This female spayed Boxer is presented because of bilateral hairless areas in the flank region which are slowly progressing (pictures 1 and 2). Similar changes were already seen one year ago at the same time of the year (autumn). At this time, the food was changed to “special diet for dogs with skin and coat problems” and the hair grew completely back. Although the owners strictly continued with this food the hair loss started again. The two other dogs and the owners have no skin problems.
