This dog is presented with an oral lesion.

You are performing periodontal probing with a graduated periodontal probe. Probing depth is 10 mm from the mesial side to the distal side of the defect.

What kind of indications does it give you regarding prognosis?

	a) Extraction is certainly the best treatment as repair of periodontal tissue and periodontal health is unlikely to occur
	b) There is a deep pocket which subsequently can only be treated by thorough root curetage and systemic antibiotic treatment
	c) This deep pocket needs to be treated by thorough root curettage, local antibiotic treatment and systemic antibiotic treatment
	d) A successful treatment would require performing a root canal treatment on top of a thorough root curettage, local antibiotic treatment and systemic antibiotic treatment
