Sedation - Sedivet®
 |
Many minor surgical procedures in horses are carried out using a combination of local anaesthesia and sedation.

These include relatively minor procedures such as tooth-rasping and stitching of wounds, to more complex processes such as castration. In all circumstances, veterinary surgeons need a safe and effective means of calming and sedating their equine patients to a level where these procedures can be effectively executed, without unnecessarily long recovering times.
Sedivet® (Romifidine) is an effective and safe sedative agent which enjoys widespread use in horses in the UK and Ireland for such procedures, either alone, or in combination with other sedative and anaesthetic agents. The product has an excellent safety profile and through accurate dosing allows easy control of both the level and duration of sedation.
