Bisolvon® Injection and powder is indicated as an aid to the treatment of respiratory disease in cattle (pigs and small animals) where mucus is a complicating factor. Bisolvon leads to the production of less viscous mucous and increases the concentration of administered antibiotics. Bisolvon is available in an injectable and oral formulation.
Metacam® (meloxicam), 20mg/ml solution for injection for cattle. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) such as Metacam are now standard therapy for the treatment of calf respiratory disease alongside antibiotic therapy. These drugs lead to a more rapid reduction in fever and reduction in long-term lung damage than antibiotics alone. Calves treated with Metacam feel better, quicker, and show less impairment of feed intake and a resultant loss in productivity. Metacam differs from other available NSAIDs in that its effects last for three days and it is licensed for use in lactating cattle.
